This tool is awesome and inspired me to add a page under Web 2.0 Tools = Collaborative Tools. There are a few more tools to add to that page, so add away if you know of any. VoiceThread is probably the most user friendly, intuitive interface I have seen.

I've heard so many people rave about this, but I just haven't grasped how to use this a tool for learning. It's a powerful gizmo, but I haven't found or come up with any good examples of its use. Any pointers?

Well I can't be specific about how one would utilize it in learning but I can see the possibilities especially if you teach online. There is a wiki centered around using VoiceThread in the classroom. SIM Kathy, voicethread is great. there is also an ed.VoideThread too. Take a look at SlideRocket. It also is slick..
