    ISTE NETS Refresh
    In 2006, ISTE began work on the next generation of NETS for Students, which focuses more on skills and expertise and less on tools.
    • creativity and innovation;
    • communication and collaboration;
    • research and information fluency;
    • critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making;
    • digital citzenenship; and
    • technology operations and concepts

    American Association of School Librarians AASL Learning Standards In order to recognize the changing role of school library media programs now and in the future, the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) has begun to develop new learning standards for school library media programs. The Learning Standards Rewrite Task Force has reviewed and considered all comments and questions submitted on the first and second draft. The Task Force is now working to complete the final document.
    The new Standards will be launched at the AASL National Conference in Reno in October 2007.
